The average annual temperature in our area is 47.3°. The average
temperature in January is 22.1°, and in July it is 69.3°. Summers
are generally pleasant with mountain breezes and the winter can
be mild with snow filled skies. Each season is breathtaking with
our famous flaming foliage being most popular.

Plenty of outdoor recreation! Northeast Pennsylvania is filled
with rivers, streams, mountains and scenic overlooks. Fishing,
skiing, hiking, etc. are great pastimes. Hunting in our vast Game
Lands is a sportsman's delight.

Dairy farming is the largest industry in Bradford County. There
are many employment opportunities for our citizens. Firms such
as Proctor & Gamble, Masonite Corp., Oshram Sylvania, E.I. Dupont,
as well as major medical centers provide a good economic base.
Stephen Foster's famous "Camptown Races" originates in the little
village in Bradford County. Once a horse race, this tradition
is carried on as a foot race with participants from all around.

Susquehanna came from an Indian phrase meaning crooked water,
an appropriate description for the river that first enters Pennsylvania.
Several mountain ranges run through this area with rolling peaks
and plenty of waterways. Farming is a major industry and most
of the flagstone produced in Pennsylvania is from Susquehanna
County.
